Since then, active fieldwork and consultancy have continued to form an impressive project and client listing. This has been due to the following : |

The various projects with which we have been involved are indicative of the type of development work currently being undertaken throughout the Caribbean region. Trinidad has, in recent years, been heavily involved with offshore petrochemical development, in particular gas. Associated with this are the downstream spin-off developments where CANE has been directly involved, including port development and expansion projects. Throughout the Islands, there are continuous demands for space in the coastal zone in terms of industrial development. This in turn impacts on the type of associated projects and we have found there are many concerns on the ever-evolving nature of environmental impacts due to coastal development. CANE has been involved with surveys for cruise ship terminals, new fishing ports, airport extensions into the sea and bathymetric surveys for ports. Historically, tourism continues to be a very important revenue earner of many of the Caribbean Islands and we have found that hydrographic data supports many of the existing and newly planned developments. |
